I am sure we are all aware that theft of dogs has increased significantly over the past few months as criminals turn to other methods of crime and the soaring price of puppies makes it a lucrative and attractive option.  Criminals are targeting homes that have dogs and using simple methods to identify to others that commit the office.  The method is to patrol areas where there are dog walkers, mark homes using tie wraps around lamps, gate post or marking walls with paint and where they can easily escape.

Too many, dogs are part of our families and losing one quite often brings anxiety, distress and worry.  Unfortunately the Police cannot respond to all dog thefts so it is up to us as a community to be alert, be watchful and look after our loved ones, even when they are at home in the garden.
